Our goal / Mission is to shift people’s view of massage in the workplace from something superficial and that just feels good, to something important and vital to their health, by introducing an on-site massage experience that results in increased productivity, increased staff-morale, general health and well-being. We are committed to service with integrity in everything we do and to be the best company we can be without compromising integrity. We know that by doing this work we are helping business looking after their people, and this in turn increases their productivity, and staff morale, helping them to build a better, stronger and more positive workplace. |
Bodyworkz Founder - Susy Egneus
Hi, I am Susy, a Swedish-born, science-fiction writing massage therapist, living in Auckland, New Zealand.
I have always felt that massage is a great way to deal with stress, and have worked as a massage therapist since my first Diploma in Therapeutic Massage back in 2003. I went back for a Diploma in Massage and Sports Therapy in 2009, and the next year, Bodyworkz Corporate Massage was born.
I know firsthand how hard it is to find time for self-care, as I was raising my two boys while studying and setting up a business, so to take massage to the place where people needed it most - their workplace always made a lot of sense to me!
I have always felt that massage is a great way to deal with stress, and have worked as a massage therapist since my first Diploma in Therapeutic Massage back in 2003. I went back for a Diploma in Massage and Sports Therapy in 2009, and the next year, Bodyworkz Corporate Massage was born.

The Bodyworkz story so far...
Bodyworkz began in 2010 as a simple idea (as most businesses do) to improve people's quality of life with chair massage. Really, what better way was there than to bring massage to the place where people spend most of their time, their workplace, helping them to relieve stress and pain, than to sit at a clinic waiting for just a few people to turn up? This way, we could reach so many more people!
Even better, get the workplaces to invest into their staffs wellness and general health by supporting the initiative and paying or subsidizing it? Seemed like a win-win really from everyone's point of view.
When we first started, it was only our founder Susy and one other brave colleague, with their sturdy massage chairs, attending a few personal referrals for workplaces that had come their way.
Those few referrals grew into a few more and word of mouth started to spread about our services (best feeling ever). With some hard work and determination, we were able to set up massage teams all over New Zealand, relying on the massage network we were part of. Turns out there are a lot of dedicated and fully-trained massage therapists around New Zealand that think chair massage is a great way to utilize their skills. To us, they are all Massage Superheroes and we're lucky to have them on board.
