As far as I am concerned, we all need superheroes in our lives in one way or another. Maybe it is to entertain us or to fuel our imagination, but they can also give us hope and to have someone to look up to.
Superheroes are a lot of different things to almost all people, and everyone has a different definition of what a superhero is, but here is what I think: Superheroes come with their own super powers.
Batman, for example, doesn’t have a ‘superpower’. He relies on his own strength, resilience and skill that he has honed to perfection (there are actually books written on 'Becoming Batman' if you're considering a career change).
It is the same for real life superheroes. They are people with exceptional skill, courage, the ability to face their fears and with a strong moral code. That is their superpower.
What does this have to do with massage in the workplace, or even your business you wonder?
Well, I was just getting to that. You see, to me, our Bodyworkz massage therapists are Superheroes. Massage superheroes. No, they are not wearing capes and masks, and they won’t soar into your building or fly to save you (but they will help you if you need it, I am pretty sure of it). What they will do is use their

No, Superheroes are real, and they are all around us. You probably already know one, or two even. People with exceptional skill, courage, the ability to face their fears and a strong moral code. Well, they are basically Batman! 
The difference between the comics and reality is that they don’t all wear visible capes and masks.

Today I came across an excellent page that summed up a lot of things I wanted to say in regards to Event massage,
so I thought I would share it here.
It's from a company called USA Events massage and they specialize in chair massage at Events, and they seem to know their stuff.

There is a common myth that we only use, or can access, 20% of our brain (some say 10%, others say 13%). Yes, a myth.
We actually use all parts of our brain as most of our brain is active at all times. Brain activity happens without us actually having to do anything. Like breathing. It just happens.

Our brain works a bit like a computer hard drive. Everything we have seen, heard or done, is stored away in neat little files that we don’t access at all times. I am imagining color/date-coordinated labels here, a bit like in Stephen Kings ‘Dream Catcher’ where the character Jonesy has a secret ‘room’ in his brain with organized ‘memory’ files, where he can hide the information the alien possessing his body wants access to. But I’m digressing.

About the company: VizExplorer is a software company that makes 'super graphics', with software makes life easier, more productive and profitable for virtually any business. VizExplorer is led by a team of renowned business intelligence experts and world-class software developers devoted to building the very best products.

The problem: The initial inquiry came via email: “We have 10-15 staff here that are mostly computer programmers, and are working long hours in front of their computers. I am thinking it would be nice to look at rewarding them with corporate massage. Would this be possible? I appreciate any info you can give.”

 
The solution: Bodyworkz set up a trial date for the next week, with a therapist going into the office to give 15-minute on-site massages to each of the staff. 10 people were interested, and the trial was successful.

I am biased when it comes to massage, I am the first one to admit that. I have been doing/giving massages professionally since 2003 after all, and have been having regular massages myself ever since. Now I can’t do without them, and know that they are an integral part of my life.
Naturally then, I think everyone else should have them as well.

And I am not just talking about a nice relaxing hour-long therapeutic massage session here, I mean:

Quick Tip - Handle Stress # 1

One of the main components of stress is the feeling of being overwhelmed. We're overwhelmed by our perception of the load that we carry; the things we have to do, the deadlines that are looming, the things we haven't done yet, or the things we didn't do but wish we had. These thoughts tend to recycle into a never ending story of the same old same, a feedback loop that wakes us at 2am, a not so jolly merry-go-round that really serves no purpose except making us more stressed. We assure anyone that will listen that nothing is really wrong, but for some reason we're not sleeping, or worse, start to dread going to sleep. Maybe there is just too much going on in that head of yours?
